For all customers
Thank you for being a valued customer of Kingsgate Technical Services. Please see our terms & conditions below. These Ts & Cs are generic across all our disciplines, however, should there be any specialised additional Ts & Cs specific to a particular job, these will be arranged and written in associated paperwork for that job.
Installation work
- We are insured for £5 million public liability. Details available on request.
- All materials supplied carry a one year on site warranty, valid from the completion date of installation. All hardware failures after this date are fully chargeable.
- Workmanship also carries a one year warranty.
- Some materials supplied may have extended warranty with the manufacturer. Should a product fail outside of our one year warranty, but within the manufacturers warranty period, a charge will be made for labour and any additional materials required to complete a repair.
- Any items installed by us that fail due to environmental issues, 3rd party damage or end user mis-operation are not covered by our warranty. Should this be the situation when we attend site for a repair, the customer will be notified of charges prior to the work being undertaken.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to return products under the manufacturers warranty, unless an agreement is made otherwise.
- While every effort is made to liaise with customers to ensure the time frame of jobs is kept to the agreed period, this may not always be achievable due to circumstances outside of our control. Should additional time be required, or additional works be required outside of any quoted work, this will be negotiated prior to that work being undertaken. In these circumstances, a verbal agreement on site may be adequate for works to proceed.
- All domestic work is payment on completion on the final day of installation, with funds cleared and verified in our business bank prior to leaving site, unless agreed otherwise. Failure to pay will result in debt collection from 3rd party agencies. PLEASE NOTE: Once a debt goes to a collection agency, we cannot be held responsible as we sell debts and therefore have no responsibility for the actions of 3rd parties to secure funds owed to them after the fact. Please note any non payment voids all warranty on supplied materials.
- Kingsgate Technical Services Ltd reserves the right to remove any supplied materials at their discretion should there be a non payment situation. The customer will still be billed for labour, both that which is done at the time of installation or repair, and that which is used to remove materials. Non payment of this will result in deferral to a debt collection agency.
- Contract and commercial / enterprise work is subject to 14 day invoicing unless agreed otherwise. These are OUR terms, but we understand that these may not fall within accounting cycles and / or submission / payment dates. We respectfully ask for prompt payment to avoid problems.
Repair work
- All repair and / or maintenance work undertaken by us, either on systems installed by other companies, or our own installations that are out of warranty are subject to full labour and materials charges. No repair work is undertaken free of charge. An approximation of cost, or a full quote will be supplied prior to work commencing should it be requested. Any materials we supply are subject to the same Ts & Cs as stated above.
- Please note that should we supply and fit components in a system not fitted by us which are subject to damage by a situation where a component NOT FITTED BY US causes damage to our fitted components, the warranty is voided. For example, an IP CCTV camera is faulty and diagnosis of the system shows no obvious fault. We fit a new camera, then 3 months down the line, the PoE switch providing power has a surge and causes the camera to burn out. The camera would not be replaced free of charge, normal full materials & labour charge is applicable.
- NOTE: The above scenario is rare and while we do work with our customers to resolve situations amicably, these Ts & Cs are here to protect us and the customer so there is a clear demarcation point in responsibility. Every effort is made to resolve any dispute quickly and amicably and it is our intention to provide the best possible service to our customers.
- Should any apps required to interact or monitor any hardware installed on any devices ( computer, tablet, mobile phone for example **NOTE** this is not an exhaustive list and applies to any device that may be used for monitoring), on any platform (MacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android or any other platform available) fail as a result of any update applied to any device firmware, operating system or app itself, any callout to resolve is chargeable at all times.
- Should any apps fail as a result of 3rd party apps causing issues with the monitoring software, this is also chargeable to diagnose & repair. **NOTE** in some circumstances this is not possible to repair, for example an app installed on Windows may affect the registry or require other software dependencies such as JAVA, all of which can be affected by updates or installations of any software, firmware, operating system or attaching hardware. These situations will require negotiation with the customer to resolve.
- In all circumstances, entering into an agreement for us to do work for you constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions
- Kingsgate Technical Services Ltd reserves the right to change these terms & conditions at any time. The conditions are valid from the date shown at the bottom of this page. The installation / repair date is applied to the Ts & Cs available at that date. Should there be any change in Ts & Cs, only work taken on from that date will be applicable to those Ts & Cs. All previous work will be bound to the Ts & Cs at the time of work undertaken by us. Previous versions of Ts & Cs can be provided on request.
